In flight blog posts

Since I'm very reluctant to end this blog, here's a photo typical of
in-seat photography. Enjoy.

Flight 97 to Los Angeles

We're now boarded and both very sad to be leaving. Time really flies;
a week doesn't feel long at all. We did and saw so much yet it feels
like we just arrived.

Leaving Today

It's been such an amazing trip out here. The hospitality of Sandra and
Eric(Vanessa's sister and brother-in-law) is incredible.

When you're in Washington DC, go out of your way to see things like
the various museums of the smithsonian or the FDR memorial and
Lincoln memorial at the national mall. The Washington monument is
everywhere when you walk the city. Washington's home Mt.Vernon and
the Gettysburg museum in Pennsylvania are must see places. Do not miss
the Holocaust museum. See the eternal flame at JFK's grave. Take some
time to walk in the city and just think about how the country is run
from here. It really is awe-inspiring.

Be sure you visit the Red Velvet Cupcakery and do stop by Good Stuff
Eatery for a nice greasy burger. Good Stuff was started by a former
Top Chef contestant, Spike.

We're actually packed and ready to leave. Our flight leaves around 5
this evening. For now we're going to have lunch with Sandra. Maybe
there will be time for one last photo or two...

Riding the Metro

For the past week this has been our means of transportation(except for
the times when Vanessa's sister and brother-in-law took us on
excursions to Monticello and Gettysburg). Anytime you are in the DC
area, this is the only way to travel, along with iPhone app, metro maps.

Good Stuff Eatery

It's DELICIOUS! Egg makes ALL the difference. =)
